Scope note
- Protestant Christians who follow the general teachings of Calvinism and emphasize particularly the authority of the Scriptures and the importance of divine grace through faith. Presbyterian Churches originate in the 16th-century Protestant Church of Scotland, whence they expanded to America. Presbyterians have been involved in issues of ecumenical dialogue between Christian confessions.
