Scope note
- The branch of philosophy that is centered on the critical examination of science, trying to understand its aims and methods, together with its principles, practices and achievements. One field of the philosophy of science, methodology, is closely related to the theory of knowledge, while other fields touch upon metaphysics and the philosophy of language.
