Scope note
- The religious offices of Islam relate to two aspects of religious and social life. On the one hand, they refer to the interpretation of the holy law (sharia) on the level of social relations, institutions, economy, and politics. On the other hand, they relate to the support and guidance of the faithful in matters of worship, everyday practices, and behaviour in the framework of the religious community.
