Scope note
- The discipline that uses geoscience methods, techniques and concepts in solving archaeological problems. Geoarchaeology aims to recognize how natural and human induced processes alter the landscape. Also it aims to reconstruct the landscape for understanding site locations and distributions as well as the formation processes that built and preserved the site. The methods used derive from various fields of study such as geomorphology, climatology, geochronology, stratigraphy, soil science, sedimentology, and geoecology.
