Scope note
- Dramaturgy is the art of dramatic composition of the theatre play. Classical dramaturgy aims at establishing its writing principles, entailing a set of specific theatre rules and techniques required to write a play. Since the formulation of the Epic Theatre theory, the concept of dramaturgy was broadened. It comprises the confluence of the performance text’s components and how they are constructed to generate meaning for the audience.
