Scope note
- Environmental archaeology is a sub-field of archaeology that specializes in reconstructing the relationships between ancient societies and the environments they lived in. It mainly focuses on the impact people had on the world around them, and the way ancient peoples perceived and were affected by their surroundings, plants and animals on which they relied.
