Scope note
- Christian Protestants who follow a set of teachings originating from John Calvin (16th century) and other theologians of the Reformation. Within this set, particular emphasis is given on the soteriological importance of predestination and divine grace, the power of sin over humanity, and the distinction between the elect and the non-elect. Calvinists, who differ from other Protestants in the interpretation of the eucharist and the total rejection of icons, follow several Churches, whose differences are often of historical nature.
