Scope note
- Wars fought in the framework of a state-building process. State-building wars may be secession/anti-colonial wars, or interstate wars aiming at the expansion of small states through the incorporation of populations and territories, on which they consider themselves as having justified claims, and at their crystallisation into a new state.
