Scope note
- Departure of individuals from one community to establish a new community that replicates the home community. Usually, the colonists settle in an environment very similar to that of their home community, and thereby maintain the same style of life. Colonisation takes place occasionally, especially in cases of communities that are thriving. The colonists settle and begin new communities without having to learn new languages or customs.
