Scope note
- A set of formal and informal, overt and covert processes by which restrictions are imposed on the collection, display, dissemination, and exchange of information, opinions, ideas, and imaginative expression. Censorship has been -and is- conducted mainly by public and private centers of power like governments, private institutions, corporations, religious, political, and media organisations.
