Scope note
- An institution in ancient Greece that was associated with the representation of city-states in major events. The city-states sent delegations, consisting of theorists, who represented their city at major festivals or visited an oracle to receive an oracle. The expenses for conducting theoriai were paid either entirely by the state or by the architheoros or shared by the state and the architheoros.
